NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida to hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 5:48 p.m. in the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, Board Meeting Room, First Floor, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida, to consider the following:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING PART III OF THE ESCAMBIA COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, THE LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, AS AMENDED; AMENDING ARTICLE 3, “OVERLAY DISTRICTS,” SECTION 3-3.3 THROUGH SECTION 3-3.8, TO AMEND CERTAIN PARKING REQUIREMENTS WITHIN BARRANCAS, BROWNSVILLE, ENGLEWOOD, PALAFOX, AND WARRINGTON OVERLAY DISTRICTS; TO REMOVE THE NON-RESIDENTIAL HEIGHT RESTRICTION WITHIN THE WARRINGTON OVERLAY PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
All interested parties may appear at the public hearings and be heard regarding the proposed Ordinance. A draft of the proposed Ordinance is available for review at the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, 221 Palafox Place, First Floor, Deputy Clerk’s Office, Suite 110, Pensacola, FL 32502 and the Escambia County Development Services Department, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola, FL 32505.
The Planning Board and the Board of County Commissioners do not make verbatim transcripts of their meetings; any person who wishes to appeal (to Circuit Court) any matter considered at such meetings or hearing will need to independently ensure preparation of a verbatim transcript of the proceeding that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing special accommodation or an interpreter to participate in the public hearing should contact the County Administrator’s Office at 595-4947 at least seven days prior to the date of the hearing. The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid; reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, re-advertise a project, in whole or in part; and to accept a bid that in its judgment is the lowest and best bid of a responsible bidder. COLLECTING NON-AD VALOREM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS
The Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida (the “Board”) hereby provides notice, pursuant to Section 197.3632(3)(a), Florida Statutes, of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem special assessments to be levied within both the unincorporated and incorporated areas of Escambia County, for the cost of providing street lighting, road paving and drainage, road resurfacing, disposal and recycling of solid waste, stormwater management, fire protection services, parks, recreation and amenities, water services, utilities services, sewer and lift station services, data communications services, natural resource protection, code enforcement, nuisance abatements, dredging, law enforcement and mosquito services commencing for the Fiscal Year beginning on October 1, 2024. The Board will consider the adoption of a resolution authorizing use of the uniform method of collection and compliance with Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, at a public hearing to be held at 5:31 p.m., December 7, 2023, or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Board of County Commissioners’ Chambers, 1st Floor, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida. The resolution will state the need for the levy and will contain a legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy. A copy of the proposed form of resolution, which contains the legal description of the real property subject to the levy, shall be available for public inspection during regular business hours in the Escambia County Management and Budget Services Office and in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida.
