Pensacola SubWest Rotary announces Burger Battle by the Bay
Pensacola, FL, February 8, 2017 -- The Rotary Club of Pensacola Suburban West will hold its second
annual Burger Battle by the Bay on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Vince Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime
Park. The event will be from 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Burger Battle by the Bay is the only burger grilling contest of its kind in Pensacola. Funds raised
from the event will benefit the SubWest Rotary Foundation and Take Stock in Children, an organization
that provides college scholarships to low-income academically qualified students. “Burger festivals are
held all over the country, generating thousands of dollars for their organizations”, says event Chairperson
Jennifer Cook. “This is a contest for everyone, one that appeals to young, old, and all walks of American
Life”.
Burger Battle by the Bay will feature over 20 teams of civic organizations, backyard novices and
restaurants from the greater Pensacola Area. There will be some serious burger grillers competing for the
Professional team category, and all teams will compete for the coveted People’s Choice award. Grilling
teams may register as professional, civic or amateur. The cost is $150 per team. Burgers are not restricted
to beef but must be prepared on a charcoal grill. For entry information and to sign up, visit

Admission to the event is $10 if purchased in advance and includes tastings from all of the

Suburban West Rotary Club is part of Rotary International, a volunteer organization of business
